Search Engine Optimization is a fantastic form of targeted marketing. Visitors coming to your site from the search engines are much more likely to make a purchase versus visitors arriving from most other sources. That's because people doing a search are actively looking for your product or services and thereby are much more likely to make a purchase when they arrive.

Search engines are also invaluable tools for reaching your target market. Unfortunately, simply being listed with the search engines is not enough to guarantee success. Studies consistently show that people do not go beyond the third page of a search results for any query, and rarely go past the first. Consequently, competition for position near the top of the search results is fierce. If your site is not on that first page, you are not going to get much traffic.

Search engines periodically change the ways they collect data from Web sites and the criteria used to determine placement of a particular Web page when a query is made and a list is produced. It is therefore important to make regular adjustments to the text and the code within each page and to re-submit each page of the site to maintain your position.

All of the search engines are different, and what may work well on one this week, might not work well the next. This can be related to any one of several reasons. New sites may have been added to the index. One of your competitors may have resubmitted with a new scheme. The search engine may have changed its programming. Or, perhaps your site came to the end of its cycle and was simply dropped. It is a constant process of hypothesizing, submitting, monitoring, and fine-tuning. There are very few absolutes.

Whether we are starting from scratch on a new Web design or working on an existing Web site created by another company, the site must be search engine friendly. We target all major engines and directories individually, with specifically designed pages for each one and for each keyword or keyword phrase.

Ongoing analysis provides us with insight into trends and keeps us on top of the ever-changing world of the Search Engines. It is also absolutely vital to stay on top of everything in order to maintain rankings, or sites can quickly fall without regular updates and submissions.

If you use the Internet to run or promote a business, nothing is more important to your success than being listed with the search engines. They are your customers’ tools of choice for locating web sites - outranking banner advertising and all other forms of media.
